To
determine the square footage of a square or rectangular
area:
Multiply
the length of the area by the width of the area.
For example, if the length of the area is 100' and
the width of the area is 50' the equation would
look like this:
100'
x 50' = 5,000 total square feet
To
determine the square footage of a circular area:
Multiply
the length of the radius of the circle by itself.
(The radius of a circle is the distance from the
center of the circle to the outside edge of the
circle.)
After
multiplying the radius of the circle by itself,
multiply that total figure by 3.14. For example,
if the radius of a circle is 10', the equation would
look like this:

x 10' = 100', then 100' x 3.14 = 314 total square
feet
